About the Item
A vintage Chinese Han Dynasty style Hu shaped bronze table lamp from the mid 20th century, with scrollwork décor, mythical animal handles and wooden base. Created in China during the Midcentury period, this Han Dynasty style bronze Hu vase shaped table lamp has been rewired for the US and is ready to be plugged. A Hu is a type of pear-shaped wine vessel with a body that swells and flares into a narrow neck, creating an S-shaped silhouette. Adorned with a perfectly organized arrangement of scrollwork motifs discreetly accented with pyramidal patterns, the lamp is flanked with ring pulls each attached to the mouth of a mythical animal. Raised on a reddish brown wooden base echoing the lamp's top, the lamp measures 24.25"H to the top of its socket. With its elegant Hu vase lines and bronze patina, this vintage Chinese Han Dynasty style table lamp will bring an exotic presence to any home, whether placed atop a bedside table or commode.
