Hand Carved Black Forest Desk Lamp Hunting Scene, circa 1950s
About the Item
The item for sale is an original desk lamp in the style of Black Forest or possibly Swiss artisanal craftsmanship. Foot and lampshade are both hand carved from medium-dark wood. The lampshade also sports some abstract cutouts which were stretched with jute canvas that gives the light a pleasant warm tint. The Foot is carved like a hunter on the prowl. He is holding a rifle, sidling up to a tree trunk.
One of the decorative leaves is slightly damaged (see 6th picture). Other than that this beautiful 1950s homeware piece is perfectly intact and unaltered.
