About the Item
Model B-54 Articulating Table Lamp, designed by Hans Agne Jakobsson for his company Markaryd. An elegant design, outfitted with chic and polished brass hardware. Highly functional, this desk lamp emits downcast illumination from the conical enamel shade, so ideal for use as task light. Wire feeds through the angular teak arm, which fully swivels on the weighted base. Lamp is in overall good condition, swivels smoothly, and has been tested. Slight loss to the teak wood does not detract from its beauty. Sweden, 1950s.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior and furniture designer, who ran his own company from 1951. Jakobsson was especially famous for his lighting designs, which often had a softly glowing light and organic shape. His designs were inspired by great, modern Scandinavian designers such as the Finnish icon Alvar Aalto and Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen.
