About the Item
This B99 table lamp is a striking mid-century modern design, highly sculptural and unmistakably Scandinavian in character.
The lamp is made in polished brass with a warm golden sheen. The shade is composed of multiple stacked horizontal rings, each slightly separated from the next. This layered construction diffuses light indirectly, softening glare while creating a warm ambient glow. The simple cylindrical brass stem rises from what appears to be a wood or wood-veneered base (partially visible). The minimalism of the base contrasts with the complexity of the shade.
This is a quintessential 1960s Hans-Agne Jakobsson design. He often worked with tiered discs to achieve soft, atmospheric lighting. The overall effect is both architectural and jewel-like, balancing functionality with sculptural presence.
Hans Agne jakobsson in one of the leading designer of the scandinvian modernist movement in the second half of the century along side with Paavo Tynell, Alvar Aalto, Poul Henningsen or Axel Ainer Hjorth.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior and furniture designer, who ran his own company from 1951. Jakobsson was especially famous for his lighting designs, which often had a softly glowing light and organic shape. His designs were inspired by great, modern Scandinavian designers such as the Finnish icon Alvar Aalto and Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen.
