The Hestian series of organic light sculptures are one-of-a-kind and hand moulded from a composite paper clay and delicate, mineral gypsum plaster. The result is a high-quality limestone finished in a liquid-like lacquer surface. Lightly water resistant, for indoor use only. The shape expresses the female form while questioning what it is to dwell, pointedly while women struggle to acquire an autonomous space amongst the domination of their bodies.

5’-0” clear cord. Lacquer, green table lamp. Candelabra socket, LED G16 40W bulb (included). Surrealist-inspired, warping plaster base and shade. Note: the Hestian series is available in green lacquer and matte white (limestone).
About the designer:
E. Silva, M. Arch., of Studio Chora is a designer based in New Mexico. Trained as an architect, her work focuses on post-Deleuzian philosophy as a critical tool for articulating gender. She handcrafts one-of-a-kind sculptures, drawings, technical and artistic visuals, pneumatic dinner parties, and augmented reality experiences.

Studio Chora
Studio Chora is a woman-owned design studio located in the desert of New Mexico. Producing hand-sculpted and one-of-a-kind designs from renewable and recycled materials, the product lines are sold in sustainably-focused shops and galleries throughout California, in Brooklyn, New York, and from our studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico. About the designer: E. Silva, M. Arch., of Studio Chora is a designer based in New Mexico. Trained as an architect, she has early career projects in Manhattan, including exterior lighting design for One Wall Street. Her designs for Studio Chora focus on post-Deleuzian philosophy as a critical tool for articulating gender. She handcrafts one-of-a-kind sculptures, drawings, technical and artistic visuals, pneumatic dinner parties, and augmented reality experiences.
