Italian Red Tole & Neoclassical Gilt Medallion Tea Canister Lamp, Circa 1950
This Italian red tole tea canister lamp is a striking example of neoclassical design, featuring an elegant gilded medallion motif set against a deep red lacquered background. The detailed gold decoration, depicting a hunting-themed vignette with birds, foliage, and crossed rifles, is framed by intricate scrolling borders, enhancing its refined aesthetic.
Standing 32 inches high to the top of the harp and brass ball finial, with a height of 21 inches to the socket and 16 inches to the top of the tea canister, this lamp has a commanding yet graceful presence. The canister itself measures 10.5 inches in diameter, making it an ideal statement piece for a library, study, or classic European-inspired interior.
Recently rewired for modern use, this lamp is in excellent vintage condition, preserving the original finish and patina. The combination of rich red tole, neoclassical gilding, and antique charm makes it a distinctive addition to any traditional or eclectic interior.
