About the Item
Contemporary Linestra table lamp in aluminium is part of The Podium Series; a set of lamps made by Bijeen between 2020-2021.
The idea behind these series is to explore the beauty of rough, ready-made industrial materials. In Linestra, the bulb is taken as the genesis of the lamp. Contrasting two shapes and two materials. The cylindrical bulb is supported by an aluminium cylinder and a squared aluminium prism acts as a base.
Bijeen
They are a a multidisciplinary design platform founded by architects Marina Lladó and Enric Bultó. Bijeen arises from the question of how to understand the design process of the 21st century. Today’s world is non-linear, with no definite boundaries and ambiguous. Reality is made up of elements that are no longer static or differentiated, but mixed and fluid. A wide range of parameters and influences converge on and interfere with the design process. Bijeen escapes the ideology of the universal and reductive, quite the opposite, as they opt for evolution and the experimental process, with a subjective materialization and an open end.

Bijeen
Bijeen arises from the question of how to understand the design process in this century. Our world today is non-linear, boundary-less and ambiguous. Reality is shaped by elements that are no longer differentiated and static, but mixed and fluid. A wider spectrum of parameters and influences converge in the design process and interfere in it. We escape from the idea of the universal and reductive; instead we aim for the evolving, adapting and subjective.
Bijeen is a multidisciplinary design platform where a conjunction of overlapping and non-hierarchical disciplines collide. The theoretical statements and the materialized elements share the same principles. We believe in an evolving and experimental process with a subjective and open-ended materialization.
