Pair of Danish Stoneware Table lamps with brown beige glaze, M. Andersen 1960s

About the Item

This exquisite pair of ceramic lamps, created by Marianne Starck for Michael Andersen & Son on the island of Bornholm, embodies the essence of mid-century Danish design. These lamps, dating back to 1960, are a true testament to the craftsmanship and artistic vision of both the designer and the manufacturer. Each lamp bears Marianne Starck's signature, "MS," which serves as a mark of authenticity and provenance, and they are also stamped with the manufacturer's mark. Constructed from stoneware, these lamps possess a sturdy and substantial quality. Their surface features a sophisticated matte glaze, predominantly in shades of light brown and gray, complemented by subtle beige accents. The firing process used in their creation results in a distinct and individualistic glaze pattern for each lamp. This means that no two lamps are exactly alike, making them truly one-of-a-kind collectibles. The combination of light brown, gray, and beige elements creates a harmonious interplay of earthy tones that exudes warmth and sophistication. These lamps stand at a height of 54 cm, including their lampshades. This dimension is well-proportioned, allowing them to be versatile additions to a variety of interior settings. The height also ensures that they provide ample illumination while showcasing their elegant form. Please Notice: All lighting will be converted for US usage. Both lamps will be rewired with a new beige fabric cord. (see image) The lampshades can be requested. Bulb Specifications: E-26 Bulb Number of Sockets: 1
