Martin Nyrop Brass table lamp. Shade of green opal glass. Performed approx. the beginning of the 20th century H. 55. Designed for Copenhagen City Hall. Martin Nyrop (11 November 1849 on Holmsland by Ringkøbing Fjord – 18 May 1921 in Copenhagen[1]) was a Danish architect, professor at and director of the Academy of Fine Arts. He was the most important exponent of national romanticism in Danish architecture around the year 1900. At the same time, he exerted a great influence on the subsequent generation of Danish architects. His main work is Copenhagen's Town Hall, which is also internationally famous.
