A very rare table lamp, model “Medusa”, designed by Alfredo Barbini and manufactured in Italy around 1970.
This stunning piece has a mushroom shaped design, made of high quality Murano / Scavo art glass with a tubular chrome plated metal arm and structure. The piece has a very unique style and emits en exceptionally beautiful light when lit! Adding warmth and style to the decor, this quality piece is an work of art and an iconic find of Italian mid-century lighting.
The shade has a diameter of 40 cm, the foot 25 cm.

Alfredo Barbini
Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
