Mid-Century Swiss Space Age Type 26 Minimalist Table Lamp from Temde, 1960s

About the Item

Very rare table lamp from the Swiss manufacturer Temde. A minimalist design in red and white. The most striking detail of this lamp is the cantilevered shade with red cover. The top is closed with a translucent plastic diffuser screen. The stem of the lamp transitions downward with a radius into a rectangular base. The stem and base are made of wood and painted white. The plain stem penetrates the shade and exits visibly at the top. The lamp has a push switch that is integrated into the shape and color of the base. The base has a light base that sets the lamp off from the surface with a shadow gap. The lamp is in very good condition with signs of use and patina. The shade cover has been professionally renewed.
