Mid-Century Table Lamp Black Clay

About the Item

Mid-Century black clay table lamp, circa 1970. This clay lamp is a unique piece, dating back to the 1970s and handmade by a French artisan. Its pyramidal design and graphic patterns give it a sculptural and elegant aesthetic. The clay surface is covered with two types of black enamel that creates a dynamic contrast : a satin finish for the main part, and a glossy finish on a wave pattern that adds a touch of sophistication. The whole design plays with the opposition of patterns, mixing strict lines with horizontal hems and curved shapes with the wavy detail. The lamp base beautifully catches the light thanks to its shiny surface. The lamp has been fully rewired, using a jute fabric cable and the lampshade is made of white jute fabric too. The bulb socket is mounted on a brass stem.
