Midcentury Brass Piano Lamp, 1960s
About the Item
Very solid and rare piano lamp made of brass by JBS (Joseph Brumberg Sundern), West Germany, around the 1960s. The lamp impresses with its organic shape. The lamp is made of brass with a heavy metal base. The screen can be tilted with a ball joint. Another joint is located at the foot (adjustable). The lamp is switched on and off via a cord switch. The lamp is in good original condition and has clear signs of aging on the brass - see pictures.
About the manufacturer: Brumberg Leuchten GmbH & Co. KG from Sauerland is a fifth-generation company that manufactures lights. In 1873, the merchant Hermann Josef Brumberg founded the metal goods factory of the same name as one of the first companies in this branch of industry. Two years later, the company switched its production to complete kerosene lamps. War, major fires and flood disasters repeatedly destroyed all productions. Despite the dissolution in 1985, the company was brought back to life in 2010 through cooperation with the company Hella Kgaa Hueck und Co and two years later with Albrecht Jung.
