About the Item
Here is a fantastic table light manufactured by Rupert Nikoll, in Vienna, from the early 1960s. The lamp has been photographed with studio lighting, then with direct sun light and finally with illumination. All I can say is Wow.
This is a rather rare version of this table lamp from this series, in that the shade consists of a brass and glass cylinder with a walnut base. The shade is composed a brass cylinder with circular holes in various sizes. The hot molten glass is then blown into the form to create the bubble effect.
As a result of the high temperature of the melted glass during the crafting process, the brass developed a unique and wonderful patina. This process makes each piece a one of a kind object.
As you can see from the photographs, this light is beautiful whether it is illuminated or not.
