About the Item

The iconic Kaiser Idell President 663 desk lamp, designed by Christian Dell, one of the leading representatives of the Bauhaus movement. This timeless model, launched in 1936, is based on a patented ball joint (patented in 1930) and a distinctive, hand-painted lampshade with an elegant, streamlined shape. The embossed “ORIGINAL KAISER idell” mark on the top of the shade confirms its authenticity. The lamp's structure is made of high-quality steel and brass, with chrome elements that are hand-polished and silver-soldered. Both the form and the quality of workmanship are examples of top-class German functional design – minimalist but full of finesse. The lamp has been preserved in its original condition with a beautiful patina, which adds to its collectible character. Only the electrical installation has been replaced, while remaining faithful to the original safety standards. This piece is not only functional lighting, but also an important 20th-century design object, perfect for Bauhaus, mid-century modern or loft interiors.
