About the Item
Designed and manufactured by Andrew Kornat Designs, this lamp has a modern Deco vibe with sleek and elegant proportions. The lamp was designed when Andrew found a 12ft Snake Skin in a taxidermy shop in Paris in 2017. Andrew was determined to design a lap to utilise this precious skin so the Stepped Column Lamp was born on the back of an envelope on the Eurostar back to London from Paris
Made of 9 pieces of solid cast Bronze, this lamp as 4 ball feet supporting two solid discs of bronze stepping up to the Bronze cap that forms the base rim of the solid Wood column (in this case upholstered in real Snake skin - but customer can order with any colour leather or vegan leather or fabric covering) finished at the top with a bronze cap which supports the short neck stem and lamp holder
The upholstered wooden column is finished off with hand hammered individual upholstery studs on the vertical seem, matching the base finish (we have stock of Antique Brass, Bronze and Polished Nickel that can be made up to order)
Weighing a sturdy 3.8Kg/ 8.4lbs these are very solid lamps. We have stock of a Pair in Bronze finish with Stone Velvet column upholstery - please see our other listing
These are currently wired with E27/ ES Lamp holders for the UK/ European market, but can easily be rewired for USA or anywhere in the world at a small extra cost - please ask for more details based on your requirements
