Modernist Table Lamp by Jean-Boris Lacroix, Art Deco, 1930s, France

About the Item

Superb modernist table lamp by Jean-Boris Lacroix. This lamp was produced by Mitis a leading French design studio during the art deco period. It is made of Chromed metal and sandblasted glass. It has 2 light bulbs : one in the bottom glass cylinder and one in the upper part glass shade. A switch below the bottom part allows to turn on each bulb separately or both of the light bulbs. It is in very good condition. This lamp is one of the icon of the modernist French Art Deco period. It is wired for European use. It is 46cm high with a 25cm diameter. Jean-Boris Lacroix was a leading designer of lamps and vases around 1930; he was as well creative director of the famous French fashion house Madeleine Vionnet between 1924 and 1937.
