This lamp from Blenko (based on decanter 6535) was produced in 1965 and is the largest of all the table lamps Blenko produced. Designed by Joel Philip Myers, what makes it a special lamp beyond it's architectural scale size is that the color "chestnut" was only produced for any Blenko lamps or art glass for a single year - 1965. Less than a handful of these lamps are in existence.
Measures 50.5" tall with the harp being able to reduce the height to 47.5". The light switch is located at the 34" mark. The shade photographed is 23" wide, but is for display only. The vessel is 11" wide upon a solid walnut base.
The light socket is a three-way switch. This lamp can be converted with an extension pole to become a true floor lamp if desired. The second photo captures the color most accurately, being a translucent brown and very distinctive.
Photographed next to a 32" tall Eames dining side chair to give scale.
The condition is outstanding. All original hardware in perfect working order.
