Each cast as a scantily clad beauty holding aloft a gilt torchere decorated with fruit, flowers and foliage, mounted on a square Porphyry and gilt bronze base.
Signed Hry Dasson et Cie 1888 on the bases.
Henry Dasson was considered one of the finest makers of gilt bronze mounted furniture in the nineteenth Century. He established a workshop at 106 rue Vieille-du-Temple, Paris, and specialised in the production of Louis XIV, Louis XV and Louis XVI style furniture using the very finest ormolu mounts with the highest quality mercury gilding. In 1871, Dasson purchase Charles-Guillaume Winckelsen business and remaining stock.
Dasson exhibited at the 1878 and 1889 Paris Exhibition. He displayed Louis XV and XVI styles as well as pieces of his own modified eighteenth century design. The exhibits in 1878 included a table entirely in gilt bronze, purchased by Lord Dudley.

Each cast as a female and a male figure from a bacchanale upholding eight scroll branches with a central branch in the form of a quiver, on a bronze mounted circular base of granite.
Claude Michael Clodion, [1738-1814], was the son-in-law of sculptor Augustin Pajou; he trained in Paris in the workshops of Lambert Sigisbert Adam, his maternal uncle and Jean-Baptiste Pigalle, the most successful sculptor of the time. After winning the Prix de Rome, he moved to Italy, sharing a studio with Jean-Antoine Houdon and studying antique, Renaissance, and Baroque sculpture.

A marble top above a frieze set with three drawers with pierced laurel decoration and ribbon tied foliate wreaths, over three garland-hung cupboard doors each with shelves, flanked by concave corners fitted with a freestanding baluster form column, the sides similarly decorated and standing on toupie feet.
Signed Henry Dasson 1879 to the bronze mount on the side and stamped Henry Dasson 1879 twice to the back of the carcass.

Martin Carlin (ca 1730 – 1785) was a Parisian ébéniste, born at Freiburg, who was received master at Paris in 1766.
Carlin worked at first in the shop of Jean-François Oeben, whose sister he married. He set up independently in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, an unfashionable quarter of Paris, where few of his wealthy clientele would have penetrated. Carlin sold his works exclusively to marchands-merciers such as Simon-Philippe Poirier and his partner Dominique Daguerre, who acted as decorator-designers. It was only through these entrepreneurs that Carlin could acquire the Sèvres porcelain plaques that decorate many of his pieces. His earliest such pieces are datable by the marks on their porcelain to 1766; they followed designs supplied by the dealer Poirier. Although Martin Carlin made some larger pieces— secrétaires à abattant (drop-front secretary desks), tables, and commodes— he is best known for refined small furnishings...

A beautifully cast pair of French 19th century neoclassical patinated figural bronze nine arm candelabra after a model by Jaen Jacques Pradier They are signed J. Pradier and were converted into lamps in the 20th century. Each candelabra is cast as classically draped maiden with one representing Phyrne and the other unknown, standing on a circular stepped dark green marble socle base. There are no visible foundry marks on the bronzes.
Born in Geneva in 1792 in Switzerland, Pradier was the son of a Protestant family from Toulouse. He left for Paris in 1807 to work with his elder brother, Charles-Simon Pradier, an engraver, and also attended the École des Beaux-Arts beginning in 1808. He won a Prix de Rome that enabled him to study in Rome from 1814-1818 at the Villa Médici. Pradier made his debut at the Salon in 1819 and quickly acquired a reputation as a competent artist. He studied under Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres in Paris. In 1827 he became a member of the Académie des beaux-arts and a professor at the École des Beaux-Arts.
