About the Item

USA, ca. 1950s. A scarce table lamp by noted VT artist Nancy Wickham (1923-1987). Features handmade stoneware ceramic body in organic tapering form - decorated in one of Wickham’s signature motifs of lithe human forms over a subtle textured glaze. Professionally rewired and fitted with a new linen shade / brown cloth cord, the condition is excellent. Signature to base. An early studio potter, Wickham studied at Alfred University in the 1940s, worked with Design Technics, and established her own studio in Woodstock, Vermont in 1949. Dimensions: 4” base diameter / 12” shade diameter x 19.75” high.
