About the Item
A beautiful patina has developed over the last century on this Neoclassical or Renaissance Revival.bronze table lamp. It is from the 1920s or 1930s and with the proper shade is the definition of statement lighting. It may be reminiscent of art deco, but our appraiser says that would require a more geometric shape, although It may seem transitional, but is clearly neoclassical or Renaissance Revival..
The lamp is cast bronze and has a circular section and tapering form. It is cast with graduated foliate emblems, the circular foot has stylized egg and dart decoration. The brass harp is original, and so is the tapering bronze finial.
The lamp is 23 inches tall, base to socket and 33 inches from base to finial, and 7 inches at the base. This lamp is quite heavy and presents extremely well.
