This is one of several Light Objects created by Geroma Löw x Atelier Livia
- each Object is unique.
The shades of these lamps are handmade from a silk lining of an antique HAORI ( men's Kimono around 1850 ) laminated onto a specially manufactured lampshade card backing material.
The lampshade card backing has been colored gold with a special technique so it allows the light to shine through.
The shade itself is measuring 13 cm deep X 40 cm high X 24 cm wide.
The organic Haori pattern with it's shade of white and greys has accent colours as green and purple, is place at the front and the back of the lamp shade - the two side parts are covered in black silk from the kimono - one side is showing the family crest from the former owner of the kimono
The lamp has been transformed into a piece of art.
Thanks to the wonderful design of the silk fabric which is showing a landscape and on the monochrome area it shows a family crest.
The Japanese family crest is comparable to the western signification of a family coat of arms.
Every shade is different
The base is massiv brass burnished. The slim appearance lends the a very elegant touch to the whole objet d'art.
