About the Item
This is one of several Light Objects created by Geroma Löw x Atelier Livia
- each Object is unique.
The lampshade card backing has been coloured gold with a special technique so it allows the light to shine through.
This Lamp shade is made of a fine silk fabric the lining of a men's Haori ( men's Kimono) .
The Pattern of this Haori Silk is Hand Embroidered with a silver thread showing ornaments of ribbons , blossom designs and various.
The allover appearance is a warm reddish light coming across.
The silk fabric has been brought onto a special hand made card backing material which allows the light to shine through.
The lamp has been transformed into a piece of art.
Every shade is different
The base is massive brass galvanised so it has a silver look which corresponds to the stitching on the shade.
The special charm is that the base already developed a patina as the galvanisation is tarnished.
The electrical cord has been selected in a dark silver colour as well to complement the red shade of the Haori fabric and the base
