About the Item

**Paavo Tynell's Table Lamp, Model 5307** Paavo Tynell (1890-1973) was a renowned Finnish metal artist and lighting designer, who began his career as a tinsmith apprentice and studied at the Central School of Art and Design to become a professional in metal art. In 1918, he founded Oy Taito Ab, which grew into a significant pioneer in the lighting industry in Finland. Model 5307 was designed in the 1930s and represents Tynell's style, which combines elements of classical craftsmanship and modern functionalism. The lamp is approximately 31 cm in height and consists of a black enamel shade, a nickel-plated brass stem, and a black-painted iron base. The lamp's base features Tynell’s manufacturer's mark, confirming its authenticity. Tynell’s designs blend decorative craftsmanship and mechanical production with purposeful structure, making his lamps unique and highly regarded. He was especially known for designing lighting for public spaces, and his works were appreciated by architects worldwide.
