Fabulous pair of Elizabethan style 19th century theatrical interest figural table lamps depicting William Shakespeare and Christopher (Kit) Marlowe.
Shakespeare in period formal attire holding a quill and parchment, Marlowe in high Elizabethan dress with one hand on his hip and holding a scrolled parchment in the other. Both gentlemen stylishly cloaked and standing on ornate bases with theatrical trophies- palate, quill, mask, dagger, sheet music, painting brushes, stylized mythcal beasts and intricate scrolled decorative elements. Well executed with fine details- texture of fabric, buttons of the clothing, footwear, accessories, facial features all very well done.
