This elegant and rare pair of 1930 Bauhaus table lamps by Christian Dell for Bünte & Remmler are named "GOETHE" lamp. They are made out of lacquered steel and are adjustable in height. A beautiful pair in original condition and Patina. A unique piece which is a great eye-catcher for your antique, modern, Space Age or midcentury interior. Art Deco: The name Art Deco was first coined in the 1960s and is an abbreviation of the full name of 2,100the famous "Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes" of 1925. The furniture was inspired by the French "Ancien regime" and the furniture art of the 18th century. It was an innovation of the exuberant Art Nouveau. They took the purity and form of Louis XVI and combined it with the elegance of the 1920s, which was transformed by the new functionalism and the turn to brilliance.
