A pair of Bohemian overlay facet cut lead crystal glass antique vase lamps of shaped form
with floral enamelling, mounted on painted wood bases. This pair of lead crystal cut faceted vases exemplify the seven hundred-year-old traditions of glassmaking in Bohemia; the rich cranberry colour is obtained by. addition of gold powder to the molten lead crystal glass, along with lead oxide, which gives a wonderful clarity and strength, enabling a detailed and Fine cutting of the finished articles. Here, the cranberry glass has been overlaid with white glass, facet cut, and hand enamelled with foliates.
