Pair of 19th Century European Pricket Conversion Gothic Table Lamps
About the Item
This beautiful pair of hand wrought iron converted lamps once lit the way as pricket candleholders, and it surely took two hands to hold one. They are heavy, handcrafted beautifully, formed lamp conversions with a verdigris finish and a patina that only comes with age. The lamp rests on three distinct feet. The pair is Gothic Revival style in the European manner, probably late 19th Century, according to the appraiser.
Each has a circular ruffled bobeche over a single standard supported by C-scroll and acanthus elements, on the three-sided base. Unmarked. Electrified.
The lamps are 23 inches high and 9-1/2 inches wide
CONDITION: This pair of lamps is in good (rewired) working condition, but the drama and beauty is in their presentation. They are in need of lampshades according to taste. Ready for installation.
