About the Item
A sculptural pair of orange alabaster table lamps, classically formed in the Hollywood Regency style.
Crafted in the 1980s by Wildwood Lamp Company — the historically significant North Carolina-based maker known for its classically inspired lighting and distinct sense of American glamour.
Each lamp is carved from solid orange-toned alabaster in a baluster form and set upon a square plinth base clad in brushed brass. The natural veining of the stone introduces subtle tonal variations, gently diffused when the lamps are lit. The original harps remain intact, topped with brass finials in the form of scalloped shells — a decorative motif emblematic of the Hollywood Regency aesthetic.
Each lamp measures 72 cm in height (from base to harp), with a diameter of 13 cm at the widest point. Both present well and are in good condition, showing a few small, scattered chips to the alabaster consistent with age and material. The electrical components are original and currently operational; however, contemporary PAT or UL testing is recommended prior to installation to ensure compliance with current safety standards.
