Pair of Antique French Louis XV Style Rococo Gilt Bronze Chenets

About the Item

This pair, while originally for the fireside, would serve equally as bases for a pair of table lamps. They are exquisitely modelled with sinuous, scrolling acanthus and beautifully finished by an expert "cisleur". Finely Gilt and full of lively movement, they demonstrate elegantly the asymmetrical harmony characteristic of the Rococo.
