Impressive pair of Art Deco figural table lamps of a standing nude holding a glass shade, Lumina.
H. 65 cm or 25.6 inch tall.
Designed by Max Le Verrier in France, 1928.
Original posthumous contemporary cast at the Le Verrier foundry.
Handcrafted.
Signed and with foundry seal.
Patinated art metal (spelter) on black marble base.
Crackled glass shade.
US adapter plug will be provided.
This model is illustrated on the cover of the book “Art Dec sculpture” by Alistair Duncan.

Max Le Verrier
Max Le Verrier was born on January 29, 1891, in Neuilly-sur-Seine. He opened his studio in 1919 and won a medal at the famed 1925 Exposition in Paris that gave Art Deco its name. Later, he established a foundry that cast bronze sculptures for Pierre Le Faguays and Marcel Bourain, among others. Although Le Verrier experimented with other alloys, he continued to create pieces in bronze as well. Le Verrier died on June 6, 1973, in Paris.
