About the Item
PAIR OF CHROMED TABLE LAMPS IN THE ART DECO TASTE
Unmarked, circa late 20th century based on the 1925 American design
Item # 402TPI08P
A stunning pair of chromed table lamps in the Streamline Moderne style that was born in the Art Deco period, they rise like futuristic skyscrapers in a taper broken by three rings at the top that graduate into three small rings at the footer over a turned cup footer raised on a stepped base. The shades are also chromed with a near-mirror finish, a brilliant surface that almost becomes translucent and disappears with its surroundings, reflecting the objects around to fade into the background.
The design was originally introduced in the United States around 1925 and was reissued by Woka Lamps of Vienna in the late 20th century in the same dimensions as the present pair under the "Hetti" line. They retail individually for 4625 euros directly with Woka.
Measurements: 23" H x 18 1/8" diameter (shade) x 7" diameter (base)
Condition Report:
One pair of lamps missing the sphere pull terminals - these can be fabricated upon request to perfectly match the originals; minor tarnish and scuffing; a fine presentation.
