Pair Of French 19th Century Charles X St. Bronze, Marble, & Ormolu Lamps
About the Item
A stunning pair of French 19th century Charles X st. Rouge Griotte marble, Ormolu, and patinated Bronze candelabra lamps. Each wonderful three arm lamp with two central electrified lights is raised by a triangular Rouge Griotte marble base with concave sides. Atop the marble base are three patinated Bronze 'S' scrolled legs with pawed feet and scalloped reserves between each leg. The circular Ormolu socle above is tastefully decorated by berried foliate and dentil patterned bands. The patinated Bronze plinth above is beautifully decorated by scrolling foliate movements, rosettes, palmettes, and fine columns with mottled Ormolu bands atop. The tapered Rouge Griotte marble shaft leads upward to the Ormolu top capital. The socle shaped top capital is decorated with berried foliate movements and a dentil patterned top band. The patinated Bronze top plate, which is designed with scrolling foliate designs, supports the three acanthus leaf decorated Ormolu candle cups. All original patina throughout.
