Pair Of French 19th Century Charles X St. Ormolu And Glass Candlestick Lamps
About the Item
A most elegant pair of French 19th century Charles X st. Ormolu and Glass candlestick lamps. Each beautiful candlestick lamp is raised by a circular base with a beautiful richly chased wrap around foliate band. Above the socle shaped pedestal is a foliate spray which supports the spiral fluted column above. The plinth of the column is decorated by an interlocking beaded band with rosettes between. The Glass cut tapered shaft of the column has spiraling designs leading up to the top capital. The capital is decorated with a band of repeated rosettes which serves as the candle cup. The top edge of the candle cup displays angled beaded designs and a mottled inner edge.
