Pair Of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Tole And Ormolu Chamberstick Lamps
About the Item
A unique and most elegant pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Tole and Ormolu chamberstick lamps. Each wonderful his and hers single arm candlestick lamp is supported by a circular Ormolu base with lattice and foliate bands around the interior. The adjustable support bar is located on the side of the base with an Ormolu bell shaped plinth on one lamp and a smooth ball on the other. Of the two fletchings, which are the adjustable knobs, the bottom fletching serves as the support to the foliate decorated 'S' scrolled Ormolu arm. At the end of the arm is the richly chased bobeche holding the inverted bell shaped candle cup. The top fletching is attached to the Tole lamp shade with its Ormolu upper and lower bands. The support bar is finished with an elegant Ormolu hoop at the top.
