Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Belle Époque Period Marble Lamps
About the Item
A stunning and most unique pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period white Carrara marble and ormolu four arm electrified candelabra lamps, possibly by Henry Dasson. Each lamp is raised by a square white Carrara marble base with ormolu ball feet, a decorative ormolu fillet and a finely chased pierced fitter plaque with beautiful foliate designs and a central bow and quiver. The impressive socle pedestal displays handsome and detailed paw feet and acanthus leaves. The elegantly shaped white Carrara body has a fluted design and a richly chased central mask of a maiden. The scrolled arms display a reeded cornucopia design and at each side are finely detailed seated cherubs with serpent legs. Above a beaded ormolu band is a twisted fluted design and a most decorative floral top finial.
