Pair of French Giltwood Floral Fragments Made into Lamps on Custom Lucite Bases

About the Item

A pair of 19th century French giltwood fragments transformed into modern, sculptural table lamps, mounted on custom lucite bases and professionally rewired for the USA. These elegant carvings feature exuberant bouquets of foliage springing from a stylized fluted motif, surrounded by scrolling ribbons and framed with lush floral garlands. The gold leaf surface has a warm, timeworn patina that highlights the fine detail and age of the wood. Their vertical silhouette is beautifully balanced by the clarity of the lucite bases, which give the lamps a fresh, modern grounding. These are pieces that bridge centuries—ornate, but not overpowering. Use them on either side of a console, on nightstands in a refined bedroom, or flanking a mirror or artwork in a sitting room. They would also hold their own on a mantel or étagère as functional sculpture. Whether you're leaning into French traditional or adding historical contrast to a contemporary setting, this pair of antique fragment lamps brings texture, elegance, and a rich sense of craftsmanship to any interior.
