About the Item
Pair of Horus model table lamps, patinated bronze.
The Horus table lamp is inspired by a sculpture of the god Horus protecting King Nectanebo II. Part of the Egyptian art collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the sculpture, dating from 360-343 BC, bears witness to the pharaoh's deep, even fusional, bond with Horus, the falcon, god of royalty. The strong, noble form of the original statue is evoked in the Horus model table lamp in patinated bronze and beige pleated shade.
