Pair of Mid Century Modern Cork and Wood Lamps in Style of Baughman

About the Item

Vintage pair of Milo Baughman style table lamps feature rounded cork bodies with cork and wood necks, mounted on round wooden bases. Walnut-stained wood juxtaposes light mocha brown color of the cork while showcasing its rich natural texture. The lamps are fitted with the brass fixtures; they are in fully operational, good vintage condition with minor, age-appropriate signs of use on cork. The lamps measure 19.5" to the top of the socket, and 28.5" - to the top of the finial, The lamps come with original harps, finials, and hand-made off-white linen shades; they measure xx" high with the shades on. Baughman's designs were characterized by clean lines, simple forms, minimalist aesthetics, and a focus on functionality, with innovative use of materials, including seamless combinations of various materials, such as metal, glass, and different types of wood. The lamps emphasize the beauty of natural materials, creating a visually striking combination of form and function; they would make a great addition to variety of interior styles, including Mid Century Modern, Traditional, Organic Modern, Scandinavian Modern, Transitional, Eclectic, Modern Country, and Collected.
