About the Item

This stunning pair of modernist lamps were realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. They feature austere silhouettes that reveal a galactic complexity of form blown into their cylindrical bodies. Each of these lamps offers an abundance of texture in handblown Murano glass composed of amorphic organically composed Murines in alternating tones of champagne and smoked silver, conjuring a panoply of associations to stunning, universally appealing elements of the natural world (running water and tree bark, river stones and fish scales). Whatever one chooses to see in the surfaces of these lamps, they are undoubtedly beautiful, showcasing contemporary Murano craftsmanship at its very finest. Their refined color palate and clean modernist form make them as versatile as they are aesthetically compelling, blending perfectly with any style of interior from Mid Century Modern to contemporary.
