About the Item
An elegant and unusual pair of Murano table lamps, each crafted in opalino white glass with spiral rigadin (diagonal ribbed) decoration and set into polished brass plated mounts.
These lamps are distinguished by their dual-illumination system with a three-way switch:
• the glass body itself can be lit from within, glowing like a sculptural lantern,
• the upper bulb provides functional light,
• or both sources can be turned on together.
This rare feature makes them versatile — shifting easily between soft ambient light and practical task lighting.
The design reflects the refined Murano aesthetic of the 1970s, when geometric glass forms were paired with brass detailing.
The bodies sit on brass-plated bases with matching collars, both showing an attractive vintage patina. The neutral white glass and gold-toned accents make them versatile for a range of interiors, from mid-century to contemporary. Both lamps are in very good vintage condition. The brass-plated hardware displays natural age-related spotting and patina, while cords and switches show light yellowing consistent with age and use.
