About the Item
Playful and iconic pair of “Pixie” table lamps designed by Jorge Pensi, Spain, 1990s.
These lamps are an outstanding example of Pensi’s ability to merge organic inspiration with functional design. The streamlined aluminum body, with its curved and asymmetrical shape, evokes the silhouette of a small rodent — with the light bulb as a “shining eye” and the tail acting as the on/off switch. This clever integration of playful form and functionality makes the Pixie a truly distinctive lighting object.
Each lamp features a smooth, aerodynamic aluminum shell paired with a mirrored bulb that enhances the sense of movement and creates soft ambient light. The sculptural design looks equally striking when switched off, functioning as a decorative piece of contemporary design.
Both lamps are in very good vintage condition, showing light wear consistent with age and fully functional. A rare and collectible example of late 20th-century Spanish lighting design.
