About the Item
Pair of porcelain or Parian ware (is a type of biscuit porcelain imitating marble) Greek goddess lamps. One is Demeter, the goddess holding a cornucopia and the other is Iris, holding a jug of water. Demeter, the Greek goddess of Agriculture was often depicted with a Cornucopia overflowing with fruit. Iris, is the personification and goddess of the rainbow and messenger of the gods. These lamps are all original. They have been professionally rewired with new antique gold cord. The harps and finials are original. The beauty is that their hands are so delicate and they have managed to survive intact. Base is 7” diameter, porcelain figures are 13.5” high. Height from the base to the bottom of socket is 26”. Total height from base to the top of finial is 43.5". These are in the style of lamps we've seen manufactured by the Rembrandt Lamp Company.
