About the Item
A superb pair of mid 19th century Chinese cinnabar lacquer bottle neck vases. The cinnabar lacquer sealing wax red in colour and with wonderful carved incised detail. The main panels depicting courtly landscapes, one with figures in the foreground, a lakeside landscape and pavilions and stylised mountains in the distance. The necks with corresponding smaller panels with equally well carved flowering trees - the rest of the vases profusely carved with stylised flowers and foliage. Now mounted as lamps with hand gilded turned bases.
Height of vases: 15 in (38 cm) including giltwood bases, excluding electrical fitments and lampshades.
All of our vases can be wired for use worldwide. A selection of card, linen or silk lampshades can be supplied on request.
