About the Item
A pair of Simris Olympia bookcase or high cabinet lamps designed by Anders Pehrson and manufactured by Ateljé Lyktan. The lamp features an adjustable round light shade with a concentric diffuser, counterbalanced by a round heavy foot that allows the lamp to be placed on bookshelves and edges. The shades are adjustable and can be turned sideways or upwards to light the ceiling. The lamps are in white painted metal with chromed arms. The pair is from the 1970s or 80s and is in good condition with normal wear consistent with age and use. Both lamps carry the manufacturer’s label.
Anders Pehrson (1933-1989) was a prominent Swedish lighting designer known for his functional yet sculptural designs. He worked extensively with Ateljé Lyktan, creating iconic mid-century and postmodern lighting pieces. His designs, like the Simris Olympia, often combined practicality with striking aesthetics, making them enduring favorites in Scandinavian design.
