About the Item
Our pair of antique porcelain table lamps with finely cast and gilt and polished bronze mounts in the Rose Pompadour pattern of Sevres date from the first quarter of the 20th century and are in excellent condition. Marked Made in France on the metal mount on underside, with Sevres and crossed arrows marks.
Named after Madame de Pompadour, mistress to Louis XV, the Rose Pompadour style was first introduced in 1757 and is distinguished by its pink red ground and colorful floral bouquets and garlands and gilt designs on white.
