The name Søholm, comes from the factory where the two founders were employed, a pottery near Copenhagen, in 1828-1839. It was the oldest factory operating in Bornholm, a Danish island off the south coast of Sweden, until it closed in 1996. In the middle of the 20th century, Søholm produced a wide range of stoneware in various patterns and shapes. Several Designers worked for Søholm Stentøj as Einar Johansen, Maria Philippi, Noomi Backhausen among others. The lamps are signed with the manufacturer's mark and with the stylized initials "EJ" for Einar Johansen. They come with new lampshades. New textile wiring. Work with 110v and 220v and E26/E27 bulbs. The EU-plugs can be replaced by US-plugs for free. Lampshade diameter: 15.75" (40cm). Total height including lampshade: 24.41" (62cm). Height of the lamp base including socket: 15" (38cm).
