"Pluie" Table Lamp/Sculpture by Max Le Verrier Signed "Le Verrier"
About the Item
Max LE VERRIER creates his monkey with an umbrella, in front of the cages of the Jardin des Plantes in Paris.
His model, a three-year-old chimpanzee, had the pretty name of BOUBOU. A great friendship was born between the monkey and the artist, passionate about animals...
BOUBOU, held by the keeper outside the cage, agreed to pose in exchange for bananas. Every morning, he looked towards the entrance waiting for the one who was going to immortalize him in bronze...
Max received a medal for this sculpture at the Salon des Humoristes in 1927.
Accompanied by a certificate of authentication, it serves as a testament to its provenance and artistic significance, inviting viewers to appreciate its intricate details and embrace the essence of the Art Deco movement
