Polished Horn and Glass Globe Hunting Lamp c. 1970s France
About the Item
A sculptural accent lamp blending organic form with refined craftsmanship, this French hunting style table lamp from the late 1970s is a compelling composition of natural and hand-worked materials. The base, hand-turned in mahogany and shaped in a concentric bullseye motif, anchors a spiralled and polished water buffalo horn — its natural curvature lending a sense of movement and visual rhythm to the silhouette.
Suspended from a brass gallery at the horn’s crest, a frosted glass globe diffuses light with a soft, ambient quality. The interplay of polished horn, warm-toned wood, and cool white glass is thoughtfully balanced, evoking both rustic tactility and modernist restraint.
Dimensions: 21 cm in diameter at the base, with a total height of 33 cm. Fitted with original European wiring and a Type C Europlug; in working condition though not PAT tested or UL certified.
Minor signs of age-appropriate wear; overall in good condition.
