About the Item
A 1980s unique pair of Italian colorful Murano glass lamps in the style of Ettore Sottsass for Memphis. Constructed with tiers of highly vibrant and geometrical colored blown Murano glass, each layer strategically placed for color and organic construction of the silhouette, this work not only brightens up the space that it inhabits but serves as an abstract sculpture as well, each playful piece worked with a different technique stacked up as a totem, and the hunter green base worked with a sanded opaque technique... A whimsical centerpiece in any room, bedroom, living room, or entryway.
Founded by Italian designer Ettore Sottsass in late 1980, the Memphis Design Group collaborated to create a style often described as kitschy and garish, centering around vibrant colors, geometric shapes, bold patterns, stripes, clashing colors, abstract designs, and plastic laminate.
